What we do
- How does 818 protect my personal information?
- To protect your personal information from unauthorized access and use, we maintain physical, electronic, and procedural safeguards that comply with federal law. These safeguards include encrypted document storage, role-based access controls, and contractual confidentiality obligations on every employee, contractor, and service provider.
- How does 818 collect my personal information?
- We collect your personal information, for example, when you (i) submit a loan application or financial statement, (ii) provide your Social Security number or income, (iii) give us your contact information or property details, (iv) authorize us to obtain your credit report. We also collect your personal information from credit bureaus, employers, and verification services.
- Why can't I limit all sharing?
- Federal law gives you the right to limit only (i) sharing for affiliates' everyday business purposes — information about your creditworthiness, (ii) affiliates from using your information to market to you, and (iii) sharing for nonaffiliates to market to you. State laws and individual companies may give you additional rights to limit sharing.
- What happens when I limit sharing?
- 818 does not currently engage in any of the sharing categories that would require an opt-out under federal law. If our practices change, we will provide you with a revised notice and an opportunity to opt out before any new sharing begins.
